The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented WHS Officer to join our team. In this role, you will ensure compliance with workplace health and safety legislation, drive safety initiatives, and help foster a strong safety culture across the organisation.
This position also offers the opportunity to assist with HR administration tasks, making it ideal for someone looking to gain broader experience while taking their first step into a WHS career.
- Contract: 3 months, with potential for extension
- Hours: Full-time, 38 hours per week
- Location: Based at Horningsea Park, with occasional travel
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor WHS policies and procedures
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports with recommendations
- Deliver WHS training and toolbox talks to staff
- Maintain accurate WHS records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
- Collaborate with managers and employees to promote a safe working environment
- Assist with HR administration duties as required
About You
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyse data and prepare clear reports
- Previous experience in WHS or a related role (ideal but not essential)
