Job Description

CEA is seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our Service team based in Wingfield, with excellent pay rates available for the right candidate! This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a skilled tradesperson who enjoys leading from the front while supporting and guiding a team of service technicians.

Working across the workshop and field, you will be responsible for the efficient servicing and repair of construction and mobile equipment, while coordinating work, providing technical support, and ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and customer service.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled servicing and repairs on new and existing equipment in the workshop and field
  • Diagnose faults and determine appropriate repair solutions
  • Allocate work to technicians or external contractors as required
  • Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to service technicians
  • Monitor quoted hours versus actual hours worked
  • Communicate job progress, timeframes and costs with customers
  • Determine warranty validity and ensure correct processing of repair orders
  • Liaise with the Parts team to ensure correct parts and inventory are allocated
  • Maintain a clean, safe and efficient workshop and work environment
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, quality systems, and company procedures

 

About You

  • Australian or NZ trade qualified Diesel Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or similar
  • Proven experience servicing and repairing construction or mobile equipment, ideally in mining or heavy industry
  • Prior experience in a Leading Hand, Senior Technician or similar supervisory role
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding capability
  • Ability to provide clear instructions, supervise work and motivate a team
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Honest, reliable and a strong team player
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Committed to safety and leading by example
