Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and construction-savvy Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary design and construction (EPC) projects in the advanced organics processing and bioenergy sector. This is a leadership role ideal for a professional with a strong background in construction project delivery, who can bring together engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines to deliver major infrastructure projects safely, on time, and on budget.

The successful candidate will have significant experience managing all phases of large-scale construction projects — from site establishment through to commissioning — and will be adept at working across civil, structural, process, and services disciplines. A background in Construction Management or Project Delivery within an EPC environment will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects across design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Develop and manage integrated construction schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring timely and cost-effective project execution.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate construction-related risks, ensuring resolution of issues that may impact timelines or quality.
  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders, including clients, senior management, and external partners, providing regular updates on project progress.
  • Manage resource allocation and track project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, vendor management, and procurement processes to ensure value and quality in project delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement, ensuring lessons learned are captured and integrated into future projects.
  • Drive a strong construction safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, WHS standards, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in design and construction project management, with a strong track record of delivering complex, multi-disciplined projects.
  •  Experience with organics waste management, In-vessel composting, anaerobic digestion or renewable energy projects is a plus.
  • Proven experience managing contractors and site-based construction activities from mobilisation through to commissioning
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and team coordination skills with a results-driven mindset.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage project budgets and forecasts effectively.
  • Excellent financial management and commercial acumen in large-scale project delivery.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory compliance, construction standards, and environmental obligations.
  • Proficient with project and construction management software such as Procore, MS Project, Aconex, or similar.
