Job Description

About the role

As we continue to grow, CEA has opened a Newcastle (Thornton) site, we’re looking for a Service Technician to join our Service team. This role offers a mix of workshop-based servicing and on-road field work, supporting customers across the region.

You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing construction and/or industrial equipment, working both in our workshop and on customer sites. This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with customers, and being part of a supportive team.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical assembly, fit‑outs and commissioning of new equipment
  • Service, maintain and repair equipment in both the workshop and field
  • Perform diagnostics, fault finding and mechanical assessments as required
  • Deliver high‑quality workmanship with strong attention to detail

  • Accurately complete job cards, service reports and all required documentation

  • Follow all safety, quality and company procedures at all times
  • Work collaboratively within the workshop while effectively managing your own tasks in the field


What We’re Looking For

  • Trade‑qualified technician (Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or similar)
  • Experience with earthmoving, construction, or mobile plant equipment
  • Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
  • A proactive, reliable work ethic with good time‑management skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
  • A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
