Job Description
About the Role
This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a broad position, combining technical accounting, commercial insight, and systems improvement.
We are looking to bring on an Accountant who is focusing on month-end processes, reconciliations, and supporting the transactional accounting team as needed - alongside reporting and hands-on involvement in process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements and management reports
Reviewing junior staff work (where applicable)
Tax compliance - preparing monthly BAS reports, quarterly/annual income tax returns and FBT payments
Support budgeting and forecasting processes with timely financial data and analysis
Perform data entry and assist with the maintenance of accounting records
Provide support to the accounting team in completing routine tasks and ad-hoc projects
Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements and accounting standards
Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity across multiple entities
Liaise with auditors and assist with preparation of audit documentation
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance financial operations
Provide financial insights to support business performance and decision-making
Role Requirements:
3+ years of Proven experience in a hands-on Company Accountant or similar role
A keen interest in accounting and finance
Proven ability to use Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to liaise effectively with customers and State Branches
Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and confidence with numbers with a proactive approach to problem solving
Ability to follow all company policies
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CA or CPA qualification – or towards the end of completing it
3+ years of Demonstrated experience in a financial accounting role, ideally within a medium to large business
Solid understanding of Australian accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements
Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent time management and organisational skills and ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
